Cardwell, Montana is in Jefferson County located in the southwestern part of the state. The school was built in the early 1900s and was originally a High School for boys. The first graduating class was in 1918. The picture above showcases some of the memorabilia of the early years at Cardwell School. The school is located between the cities of Bozeman and Butte, off of Interstate 90.
Cardwell Elementary School turned 100 years old in 2018. The community came together to celebrate this historic milestone by decorating tiles. Many of the tiles include the dates that the families graduated or attended Cardwell. These tiles are located in the stairway leading up to the 5th-8th grade hallway. Also located in this stairway are murals made by students in the class of 1986-1987.
Cardwell has the benefit of having small class sizes for smaller student to teacher ratios which allows for wonderful learning to take place! We strive teach our students the importance of giving back to the community through outreach events and volunteering activities. The learning environment at Cardwell is unique and we would love for you to join our community!
We are open for enrollment for new students! If you have any questions about joining our school or want to schedule a tour reach out our Supervising Teacher, Seth Coombe, at scoombe@cardwellschool.org.
